This the annual celebration here at the Utah State Developmental Center and this is the second year of the 5K. They changed up the course a little since last time. There were hills and other parts of the course that staff had a hard time negotiating a wheel chair. The organizer just measured it in his car and told us it was going to be 3.3 but everyone with a GPS ended getting 3.6. Anyway, it was fun. I came in second again behind a 60+ year old, but that guy is fast so I'm happy with the result. I thought the co-working of mine that came in 3rd last year was going to give me a run for my money but in the end I smoked him. This is the fastest I've run in a while. I haven't really tested myself, especially at this short of a distance. I was slower than last year but infinitely than I would have been 6 months ago. I've still got a ways to go before I'm back to where I was a year and a half ago. |
