My sister-in-law is coming up for Christmas and wants to know if there are any 5Ks around Christmas time. Does anyone know of any? She wants to get her family running one together, mom, dad, sisters, etc.

Anyway, running update. There has been none. They changed up the dosage on my meds a little but its only been a few days. My schedule has been messed up too. I can't drive. Utah law says 3 months seizure free. So my wife drops me off on her way to school. I don't want to get up at 4am to fit one in before we leave. So my schedule sucks. I can't go home from work a little early to fit one in before dinner because I'm dependent on others for rides. I'll figure something out.

Stupid seizure law! So sorry for the hassle to juggle your schedule when you can't drive and the bummer for no running. Hope the new med dosage does the trick and no more seizure.

I'd check utahrunning.com for local races. I am sure there are some Santa or jingle runs in Utah for your sis-in-law and family! :)

I checked utahrunning.com and didn't find anything.

Seizure law or not, I'm terrified to drive. I don't know when I'll be comfortable with driving again, probably before I'm allowed. Other states have longer periods, 6 months, 9 months.

Sorry you're still run-less. Having to depend on people for things you're used to doing yourself can be a bummer. But it's a good excuse to spend some time together- not everyone gets to ride to and from work with a pretty lady :-)

I have a relative that has epilepsy and had a seizure while driving. It was scary. I can understand why you're still hesitant.

I'm with QP on the 'having to rely on others for what you're used to doing yourself' - it isn't easy.

I hope things get back to normal (in all aspects) soon and that Rachael just decides to do her own (like some amazing person suggested :) ) and that I get to come and bring my family! :)

It's to the point where "it is what it is" and there isn't any reason to complain about it.

And that family race sounds fun. We might have to do that.

True, it is what it is! Sorry your schedule is messed up, but this too shall pass!

There has got to be a santa run out there!

Chad,

That has got to be tough being dependent on everyone. My dad had epilepsy from child-hood and was never able to drive or gain employment (other than doing janitor service for the church). I hope you can find a schedule that allows you to get running (injuries and all I am sure it makes you feel better). I ran nights for a couple years since that was all my schedule would allow.

I'm lucky that my epilepsy hasn't ever been more than an inconvenience. Meds keep everything under control, they just need tweaked every once in a while. I hope it stays that way.

Hey Chad, I hope things are going well for you.

Hey Scott, congratulations on your Wasatch 100 finish. That's badass! Anyway, I'm good. I know I'm fine but I'm a little gun shy. I think I'll try to find time for a little run on Saturday with one of my kids accompanying me on their bike.

Thanks and good to hear.

I heard RAD and Rachelle is having a spooktacular run meeting at 5:30 am at Willow Park tomorrow. I think I might be able to get Karen and Wendy to come! You wanna come, it's right down your house! :)

I hope you guys had fun this morning. I'll be back soon. I keep saying that. :[
