No running for a bit. I'll probably forego the salt lake half, or whatever that that thing is called. I have a seizure disorder as a result from a tumor in my head removed about 6 years ago.  There wasn't any cancer or anything so all is back to normal except these seizures.  My medicine has been working for several years without any issues until Saturday.  It wasn't a big deal but its not something I want to happen in a run especially since they're all solo.  And they can sometimes be triggered by physical exertion.  So I'm going to lay off the running for a couple of weeks probably until I'm confident that all is straightened out.

oh wow Chad! That is crazy! I had no idea, not that it is something you bring up in daily conversation. I think you're making a wise decision. I was looking forward to seeing you at the half though. If you get it straightened out, maybe you should just come anyway :) Best of luck with it all!! Keep us updated.

Thanks Rachael. It might not be as bad as all that. I gave blood about an hour before. I've never had a problem before after giving blood but I'll see what the doctor says tomorrow afternoon.

Oh that is scary! I hope the doctor has some good answers and report for you! I do remember you mentioned that once before on one of our JRP runs and I was blown away by how positive you're with trying to stay healthy and all. Please keep us posted! keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!

I went to the doctor and the seizure may or may not have been caused by the blood donation. So they took a blood test to see what the medication levels are in my blood. If the levels are low then they just bump up my dose. If their high then they'll add something or change meds. Either way I have to be seizure free for 3 months before I can drive. Crap. I'm going to wait for a week or two after my doses get adjusted before I run.

My brother has (had) epilepsy. Seizures can be scary things.

Hey Chad, sorry you're dealing with this right now. I hope you don't have any more issues and are back driving and running soon. The skunks miss you on the trail!
