1.5 mile warm up, .5 mile cool down and 4 half mile repeats. 3:33, 3:34, 3:31, and 3:30. It amazes me that some of you out there can consistently put in low 6s mile after mile for 13-26 miles. I'm wiped out after a half mile at 7 min pace.

You will throw down a mile in 6s every now and again.

Not for a while. I should try it again some time.

I'd love to hit 800's like that! Nice work Chad.

Rachael, you're full of it. These are your average half mile splits for your desnews 10k.
And those don't have breaks in between them like mine do. You can't fool me. You can hit 800s like that with your eyes closed.

okay, but here is my reasoning on those - First, only one mile is faster than your 800 splits AND this was a downhill course, not flat. When I go to a track I have a hard time doing speed work and hitting 3:30's for 800's. I wish it was easier, I would then have more confidence about trying for a 3:30-3:35 at SGM. If Bart Yasso's prediction holds true I'll be closer to a 3:45.
