4 miles at 4:20am.  Bright and early.  Actually, that is a little misleading, it was dark and early.  I wanted to be at work by 6, so an extra early run for me.  Average pace 8:37.  I decided to treat the last half mile with the effort of a 1/2 mile repeat.  I laid down my fastest mile of the year at 7:41.  That's not fast for a lot of you but I can't remember the last time I ran a mile that fast.  I still don't have any endurance but I'm bumping up the miles a little each week so it will come.  It was fun.

YIPPEE for the fast mile! Congratulations. i rarely pull off any fast MILES (like an entire mile) unless I am in a race. My body hates them.

4:30? And people call me crazy at 4:45.

Very nice. Don't fall asleep at work today.

Hey Kelli, I don't even think you would notice if you put in one super fast mile out of 95. That's only 1%!

And Burt, too late. Although it was during my lunch break so all is good. I have to do it again tomorrow. I better go to bed early.

Now you won't be able to if you already took a nap.

high five on the early miles. it's lonely but it's definitely one of the most peaceful hours of the day (other than the middle of the night, but then you have to add in the creepy factor and it's not so peaceful anymore).

There are all kinds of weird shadows on the JRP in the middle of the night. It takes some getting used to, so I know exactly what you mean by the creepy factor.

This is funny because my husband refuses to let me run alone at 5 am, yet he has no problem with me running at 9 pm. I have told him the same thing---it is quiet and peaceful in the morning and dang scary and creepy at night!
