5 miles on the JRP and it was very dark this morning. When there is no moon and no clouds for the city lights to illuminate it gets pretty dark. I hate running with a light but this morning it might have been a good idea. My piece-of-crap Garmin had another hiccup. Cruising along on the last mile at about 7:55 when the lap beep happened early. My overall average pace, which should have been 8:25ish showed 8:03. Mile 5 was 6:55 and the .16 it gave me as a gift was run at a 3:15 pace. Yah right. Anyway, I figure I ran it around 42 minutes which comes out to 8:24 average pace. Which I'm happy with because the Mizuno Wave Creations are my heaviest shoes. I don't think I've ever ran faster than 8:30 in them. |
